Why did you become a planner?

Sean became a financial planner because he values helping others gain clarity and confidence in their financial lives. Much like coaching a team, he finds it rewarding to guide people through decisions, build financial competence, and reduce the stress that often accompanies money matters. That drive to create practical, sustainable solutions led him to establish a practice where client needs come first and planning is always tailored to individual circumstances.

What is your approach to financial planning?

At Moraine Wealth Advisory, the planning process begins with listening. Sean builds plans around each client’s goals, values, and risk tolerance, then translates those priorities into a clear, actionable strategy. The process includes goal-setting, cash-flow analysis, tax planning, investment design, and ongoing monitoring. Transparency is essential—clients receive straightforward explanations of fees, trade-offs, and expected outcomes so they can make confident decisions.

What is your proudest achievement as a financial planner?

One of Sean’s most rewarding experiences is providing pro bono guidance to individuals who have received poor or harmful advice elsewhere. In those situations, he often sees an immediate emotional and practical relief when clients realize they have a clear, sensible path forward. Helping people regain control of their finances and reduce anxiety is a meaningful measure of success for him.

What is a client success story you can share?

Early in a discovery call with a prospective client, Sean identified a significant estate-planning issue that, once corrected, reduced the client’s projected tax burden by nearly $500,000. This outcome underscores the value of early review and thoughtful coordination between tax, estate, and investment strategies.

What would you do if money were no object?

Sean would travel internationally to study culinary techniques with top chefs. Cooking is a personal passion, and learning from the best around the world would be an ideal way to combine travel, creativity, and continuous learning.

What is the worst money advice you ever received?

The worst advice Sean has encountered is the suggestion to simply “borrow more money from the bank.” In practice, indiscriminately increasing leverage can amplify risk and create unnecessary financial strain rather than solve the underlying issues.
