Should you buy a used Ford Mustang Mach-E?

Ford issued a recall affecting about 35,000 Mach-E vehicles to replace an electrical switching component in the battery pack that could be damaged by repeated fast charging or extreme driving. Dealerships perform recall repairs at no charge, but replacement parts and scheduling times may vary.

During a test drive, listen for abnormal noises such as thumping or popping at the wheels—these may indicate sticking or worn brake components. A loud ticking or grinding noise beneath the vehicle could suggest a problem with a CV joint or driveshaft. Also verify that the one-pedal driving mode works as expected; some owners have reported issues that required a software update to restore normal operation.

Inspect the charging equipment and inlet carefully. Burn marks, frayed cords or damaged connectors are signs of improper use or wear. Try initiating a charge to confirm that the onboard charger and charge-port cover operate correctly. Note that using non-approved adapters or damaged cables can cause expensive damage that may not be covered by warranty.
