The Scene+ program
Scene+ is a loyalty program from Scotiabank, Cineplex and Empire that lets members collect points to spend on a wide range of rewards for the whole family. Scene+ points can be redeemed for movie tickets and concessions, grocery credit, gift cards, electronics and travel — giving you flexible ways to use your rewards.
There are several simple ways to earn Scene+ points:
- Present your Scene+ membership card when you shop at Scene+ partner stores to collect points and access members-only bonus offers.
- Use an eligible Scotiabank credit or debit card to earn points on everyday purchases, no matter where you shop.
- Combine both methods: pay with an eligible Scotiabank card and show your Scene+ membership at partner locations to earn points twice on the same purchase.
Points are managed through the Scene+ website or the mobile app, and — provided you maintain an active Scotiabank Scene+ credit or debit product — your points do not expire. That means you can save them up and redeem them when it suits your family.
Why consider joining Scene+?
Scene+ now reaches well beyond movies. The program partners with retailers across categories families use every day, so you can build points while shopping for groceries, picking up prescriptions or ordering online. Scene+ members earn points at Empire grocery banners including Sobeys, Safeway, FreshCo and Foodland, and at select pharmacies such as Lawtons. Members can also shop online with Scene+ Rakuten to access member-only discounts and earn points on many purchases.
If travel is on your radar, Scene+ Travel — powered by Expedia — gives you additional earning opportunities: members earn three times the points on hotels and car rentals booked through Scene+ Travel, even when part of the booking is paid with points. For family outings, Scene+ points convert directly to entertainment credit. For example, you can exchange 500 Scene+ points for $5 in credit to spend at family-friendly destinations like Playdium or The Rec Room. After a day of activities, choose from partner restaurants such as Kelseys Original Roadhouse, Swiss Chalet or East Side Mario’s to round out a family meal that everyone will enjoy.
If shopping is part of your family routine, gift cards from dozens of retailers make it easy to treat kids or manage holiday lists. For home entertainment and connectivity, redeem points for electronics through the Apple and Best Buy catalogues on the Scene+ site. And members who hold an eligible Scotiabank card can use points to offset charges later by redeeming points for statement credit.
Planning a family getaway is simpler with Scene+ Travel. When you book hotels or car rentals through Scene+ Travel, you can pay with points, a payment card or a combination of both — and you’ll earn three Scene+ points for every $1 spent on hotels and car rentals, helping you reach the next trip more quickly. Points are redeemed at a value of $1 off for every 100 Scene+ points when booking travel through the program.
